Film Wraps Like Legs Around a Goal Post
Ken Hegan and John Meadows have completed post-production on "Heart of Whistler" a ferociously kinetic new comedy film. The majority of filming took place in Whistler, with additional filming in Vancouver.
"Heart of Whistler" is a short action/comedy directed by Ken Hegan, whose credits include "Remission Impossible," "William Shatner Lent Me His Hairpiece," and articles for Rolling Stone magazine.
Rikki Gagne plays a bored waiter who is suddenly thrust into a life-or-death race to deliver a cryogenically frozen heart to a dying transplant patient. Fred Keating plays a brilliant cardiothoracic surgeon while Wade Fennig plays a gifted athlete suffering from a mysterious upper body injury.
Hegan shares screenplay credit with John Meadows ("Wisegirls") who produced this ambitious motion picture. They were one of four B.C. filmmaking teams to win the Whistler Film Festival’s Whistler Stories Short Film Commission Competition.
Their creative team includes cinematographers James Liston & Prem Marimuthu. The film features extensive action sequences including helicopter footage, skateboarding, ice hockey, luging, and flirting.
"Heart of Whistler" will have its World Premiere at 8 pm on November 30 at the Whistler Film Festival’s Opening Night Gala. For further info/tickets, visit: http://www.whistlerfilmfestival.com
A second free OUTDOOR SCREENING has been added for Friday Dec 1st, 2006 at 5 pm in Whistler's Skier's Plaza.
